_MG_1218-BrazosBendAdultAlligator  [20 of 42]

This head belongs to a twelve foot alligator that chose to rest next to a well-traveled trail of Brazos Bend State Park, south of Houston, Texas. Thoughly placid, alligators can move very fast. It is important not to get too close to them. This was taken with a 300 mm telephoto lens.
