On our second eight-day trip (without the llama), we managed to circumvent a number of major avalanche fields on Flint Creek Trail on the way to snowy Flint Lake. On the way, at about 11,000 feet, we saw these graceful ice-encrusted mushrooms struggling to survive on a rotted log. (Also, see next image.)
