Spring blooms decorate the sandy soil near Boquillas Canyon, where the Rio Grande cuts through sheer cliffs on its circuitous route around the southeastern border of Big Bend. The canyon mouth is barely visible between the Mexican cliff on the right and the rugged American slope descending from the left.
